The department finances investments of governments and municipalities, corporates and project entities into urban transport, rail, logistics and aviation. Products include corporate, project and export financing as well as public promotional finance schemes. Until 2016 Carsten Wiebers covered the bank\u2019s shipping, oil &amp; gas offshore and cruise activities as Global Head Maritime Industries. He entered the bank in 1992 as project manager for KfW\u2019s development aid finance, focusing on project finance in the former Soviet Union states of Central Asia and Pakistan. Previous to KfW he worked for several public and private institutions such as the Environmental Protection Agency in the US, the Word Bank and chemical industries with project assignments in the US, Africa and Asia. He holds a doctorate degree in agricultural economics having studied at the University Kiel, Technical University of Berlin, UC Davis and UC Berkeley.
